Julie Fleming

Julie Ann Fleming, 45, of Bettendorf, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.  Cremation rites will follow and memorials may be made to the family.

Julie was born February 29, 1972 in Davenport, Iowa, the daughter of William C. & Mary E. (Rowland) Gillin.  She was a 1991 graduate of Bettendorf High School where she was on the swim team.  Julie continued to enjoy swimming for many years.

She was united in marriage to Michael R. Fleming on March 4, 2005 in Davenport.

Julie had been employed with Ross’ Restaurant and more recently with the Scott County Family Y where she enjoyed working.  She also enjoyed the company of her pets, music and yardwork.  She loved the time with her family, boating, motorcycling and watching many movies with her husband, Mike.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Michael; her daughters, Lauren Houston and her fiancé, Zach Stearman of LeClaire, Iowa, Veronica Fleming of Coal Valley, Illinois and Makayla Fleming of Bettendorf; her sons, Steven Houston, III of Davenport and Domnich Fleming of Bettendorf; her grandchildren, Scarlett Murphy-Stearman and Ivy Lou Stearman; her parents, William & Mary Gillin of Bettendorf; her sister, Suzanne Gillin of Bettendorf; her brother, Timothy Gillin of Texas; her niece, Destiny Gillin; and her nephew, Adam Schoonover.

Julie was preceded in death by her grandparents, Frank and Loretta Gillin and Ernest and Nina Rowland.
