June V. Wiese

June V. Wiese, 96, of Bettendorf, passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2024 at her residence.

June was born on July 13, 1927 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of John and Irene (Schmitt) Ostberg. She graduated from Lake View High School, Chicago. On September 26, 1953, she married Daryl Wiese in Chicago. He preceded her in death on April 23, 2018, after 65 years of marriage. June was a devoted wife, mom, and grandma. Nothing made her smile more than spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was known throughout the neighborhood for walking with her cherished dogs where everyone knew her until the age of 91. June was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church, Bettendorf. 

Those left to honor her memory are her daughter, Kathleen “Kathy” (Stephen Rhodes) Magoon of Bettendorf; two granddaughters, Rachel (John) Werner of Mendota Heights, Minnesota and Kelli (Cody) Schmidt of Davenport; four great-grandchildren, Jack, James, and Emma Werner, and Chase Schmidt and one great-grandchild on the way; and her sister-in-law, Donna Ostberg of Mount Prospect, Illinois. 

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Dale; brother, Jack; and her two cherished bichon dogs, Koda and Max.
