Kaggwa “Francis” Nass, 13, of Donahue, died Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at the University of Iowa Children’s Hospital in Iowa City.
Funeral services celebrating his life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Eldridge. Burial will be at Summit Cemetery in rural Davenport. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Friday, March 24th at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family, benefitting M-Lisada Africa Foundation in Kampala, Uganda.
Francis was born on July 17, 2003 in a rural village in Uganda. He was in 6thgrade at Allen Shepherd Elementary in Long Grove. Francis knew Jesus as his Savior. He enjoyed sports and reading, but mostly laughing, joking and playing with his brothers and friends. He was an avid Green Bay Packer fan.
Those left to honor his memory include his parents, Steffan and Sandy Nass of Donahue; sisters, Caitlyn (Nate) Coonts of Ames, Iowa and Abby Nass of Donahue; brothers, Connor Nass and David Nass of Donahue; grandparents, Ron and Duetta Banowetz of Charlotte, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his biological parents, Sande Francis and Nakityo Dativa; paternal grandparents, David and Mary Ann Nass.
