Karen Duncan

Karen Mae Duncan, 47, of Lewisville, Texas, formerly of Blue Grass, Iowa, died Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at Vitas Health Care in Carrollton, Texas.

Funeral services celebrating her life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at St. James Lutheran Church in Bettendorf. Burial will be at Blue Grass Cemetery in Blue Grass. Lunch served at Blue Grass Community Center after the burial. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Friday at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date in Lewisville, Texas. Memorials may be made to the family to be distributed to various organizations for liver cancer research.

Born on April 5, 1970 in Moline, Illinois, Karen was the daughter of Arthur and Barbara (Kakert) Duncan.

Karen worked as an X-Ray Technician for over 20 years, most recently for Orthopedic Associates of Dallas. Her life was built around her children. She loved watching her son, Dylan, at his baseball games, going shopping with her daughter, Taylor and her special friendship with Brandon. She enjoyed traveling, spending time with her family on the beach, and relaxing by the pool.

Those left to honor her memory include her children, Taylor and Dylan Becker; the love of her life, Craig Carson; his son, Brandon; her father, Arthur Duncan of Blue Grass, Iowa; brothers, Mark (Shari) Duncan of Davenport and Steven Duncan of Davenport; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother and grandparents.
