Karen L. Piff, 63, of Moline, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 12, 2009 at Trinity Medical Center, West Campus, Rock Island, after a brave and courageous battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 A.M., Thursday, April 16, 2009 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Wednesday at the funeral home. Graveside services will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gilda’s Club of the Quad-Cities.
Karen was born July 19, 1945 in Rock Island. She was united in marriage to Melvin F. Piff on May 27, 1995 in Rock Island.
Karen had worked in numerous jobs throughout her life, among them as a sales representative for various newspaper publications. She had served as past officer of AMS, of which she was particularly proud.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Mel; her daughters, Kris (Joe) Gende, of Cypress, Texas, Karla (Terry) Grafton, of Springdale, Arkansas, Kim (Mike) Schimmel, of Moline and Kathy Fuller, of Moline; her sons, Jeffery Fuller, of Moline and Justin (Sarah) Piff of Villanova, Pennsylvania; her grandchildren, Justin Fuller, India DeNay, Morgan Gende, Jason Gende, Quinn Grafton, Kirsi Grafton, Ellie Schimmel, Abbie Schimmel and Mollie Schimmel; her great-granddaughter, Kalia Fuller; her sisters, Peggy (Les) Wartman, of Moline and Nancy (Jim) DeCosta, of Davenport; her brothers, Mike (Barb) Knorr of Rock Falls, Illinois, Greg (Vanice) Knorr, of Nikiski, Alaska and Erich (Patty) Knorr, of Moline; and her special friends, Karen & Fritz Voss, Kathy & Carl Jourden and Sandy Overturf.
Karen was preceded in death by her mother, Ella Knorr; and her brother, Tim Knorr.
