Katherine Grell

Katherine L. Grell, 66, a resident of Davenport, passed away Sunday, June 7, 2015 at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus in Davenport.
A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 11, 2015 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Memorials may be made to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA).
Born on November 28, 1948 in Clinton, Iowa, Katherine was the daughter of Richard and Viola (Roggendorf) Lohse. On April 6, 1984 in Davenport, she married Thomas Grell.
Katherine worked in retail sales for TJ Maxx for 15 years, retiring just recently. She enjoyed shopping, gambling, baking and traveling to Arizona. She had a love for animals, especially dogs; and entertaining, hosting numerous parties and get-togethers. Katherine cherished her time spent with family, especially her grandchildren.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Thomas Grell; daughters, Mindy Spratte of Glendale, Arizona, Kimberly (John) Mack of Peoria, Arizona and Jennifer Nice of Davenport; grandchildren, Emily Spratte, Joshua Mack and Alexis Boldt; sisters, Sandra (Dennis) VanZandt of Bettendorf, Barbara (Steve) Brebner of Bettendorf and Karen (Tim) Bashaw of Bettendorf.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
