Katherine May Monnig, 67, of Bettendorf, was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 2, 2017 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf.
Funeral services celebrating her life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 6, 2017 at First Baptist Church in Bettendorf. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens in East Moline. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., Thursday, October 5th at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church or to the Pregnancy Resource Center.
Born on December 5, 1949 in Illinois, Kathy was the daughter of Jack and Betty Joan (Peacock) Redmond. On April 11, 1999 in Honolulu Hawaii, she married James Monnig.
Kathy most recently worked as a church secretary at First Baptist Church, where she was a faithful member. Prior to that, she worked as a relay secretary at Roadway. In her spare time, she found joy in crocheting, knitting, cross stitching, traveling, along with quilting and church activities.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband, James Monnig; her daughter, Stephanie (David) Buckley; grandchildren, Rebecca (William) Butler, and Anndrea May Buckley; sisters, Linda Ann Mathis, Kristy Wamsley, and Luanne Evans; brothers, Jack (Caroline) Redmond, Darrel (Marty) Redmond, Terry (Donna) Redmond, and Kurt Krajewski.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Betty Redmond.
