Kathryn Marie St. Clair, 69, of Bettendorf, died Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at the Fountains Retirement Community in Bettendorf.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 12:00 p.m., Monday, May 13, 2013 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the services on Monday at the funeral home.  Inurnment will follow at Rock Island National Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the family or to a charity of the Donor’s request.

Kathryn was born September 23, 1943 in Kewanee, Illinois, the daughter of Tefor & Bertha (Bisschop) Simaytis.  She was united in marriage to Norman C. St. Clair on September 8, 1962 in Kewanee.  He preceded her in death on October 3, 1995.

She retired from Deere & Company after thirty five years.

Those left to honor her memory include her daughter, Deborah St. Clair of Coralville, Iowa; her son and daughter-in-law, Alan & Denise St. Clair of Montgomery, Illinois; her six grandchildren, Alex, Nicholaus, Andrew, and Daniel St. Clair, and Lauren and Evan Logsdon; her sister and brother-in-law, Georgia & Clarence Hicks of Kewanee; and her brothers and sisters-in-law, Michael & Sue Simaytis, Steven & Deb Simaytis and Patrick & Mary Simaytis, all of Kewanee.

In addition to her husband, Norman, Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Terry Simaytis.

Kay loved spending time with her grandchildren, family, and friends. She enjoyed playing cards, fishing in Minnesota, collecting Department 56, needlepoint work, baking, gardening, and reading.

She brought so much happiness and love to many people and will be greatly missed. Her spirit lives on in the lives of her family and friends.
