Kathryn L. Murphey

Kathryn L. Murphey, 50, a resident of Low Moor, Iowa, formerly of Davenport, died Sunday, October 21, 2007 at Finley Hospital, Dubuque, Iowa after a year and a half long battle with kidney disease and dialysis.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, October, 26 2007 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel, Bettendorf. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the time of service. Burial will be at Pine Hill Cemetery, Davenport. Memorials may be made to the family.
Kathryn was born February 17, 1957 in Davenport, the daughter of Melvin D. and Donna E. (Yoke) Murphey. She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Women’s Auxiliary, Clinton, Iowa. She loved cooking, being outdoors and was a people person.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughters, Maria (Ryan) Ritter, Colona, Illinois and Rashell Murphey, Davenport; her son, Michael Murphey, Davenport; grandchildren, Kiara Wray and Giavanna Ritter; her sister, Kim (Terry) Williams, Davenport; her brothers, Melvin “Skip” Murphey, Georgia and Mark Murphey, Indiana; her special aunt, Esther Ford, Davenport; her special friend, Joe Hackney, Low Moor, Iowa and her step-mother Ruth Murphey, Davenport.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Donna; her brother, Michael D. Murphey; her grandparents and several uncles, aunts and cousins.
