Kay E. Brown, 82, of Bettendorf, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf.
Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 26, 2016 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Davenport. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the services on Saturday at the church. Burial will follow at Davenport Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Kay was born April 17, 1934 in Watseka, Illinois, the daughter of John & Lota (Rosenberger) Frith. She was united in marriage to Jack L. Brown on February 15, 1973 in Gardner, Illinois. He preceded her in death on September 1, 2005.
Kay was retired from the Rock Island Arsenal. She loved spending time with her children and grandson. She was also very involved in her church and enjoyed spending time with her many friends. She had a big heart and touched everyone she came in contact with.
Those left to honor Kay’s memory include her daughters, Linda (Robert) Phelps of Hiawatha, Iowa and Lisa (Daniel) Briner of Dwight, Illinois; her grandson, Joseph Briner of Dwight; her brother, Leslie (Marianne) Frith of Seattle, Washington; two nieces; and two nephews.
In addition to her husband, Jack, Kay was preceded in death by her parents; and her step-father, Donald Meier.
