Kenneth Allen “Al” Mulvania, 55, a resident of Davenport, Iowa died on Friday, October 18, 2024 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at the Rock Island National Cemetery at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, October 28, 2024. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. on Monday at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Iowa.
He was born in Davenport, Iowa on July 26, 1969, the son of Kenneth E. and Scharlet F. (Overton) Mulvania and was a 1988 graduate of Pleasant Valley High School.
Al enlisted in the U. S. Army shortly after graduating from high school and served in the Persian Gulf during Desert Storm. He was honorably discharged in 1992 as a Specialist 4th Class and was awarded the Army Service Ribbon, the National Defense Service Medal, the Army Lapel Button, the Southwest Asia Service Medal with 3 Bronze Stars, the Kuwait Liberation Medal and the Army Commendation Medal.
He formerly was employed as a machinist at Berry Global in Bettendorf. In his spare time, he enjoyed camping, working on cars, leatherwork , collecting vintage comic books, watching NASCAR on the week-ends and taking long walks along the river.
Those left to honor his memory include his long-time companion, Louise Bowley; his sons, Alexander (Zaynah) Mulvania of LeClaire, Iowa and Connor Mulvania of Pleasant Valley, Iowa; his grandchildren, Hunter, Aria and Chastine; his sisters, Dianna (Claude King) Mulvania of Des Moines, Iowa and Lori (Courtney) Davis of Maquoketa, Iowa; his brothers, Chuck (Teresa) Mulvania of LeClaire and Michael (Laura) Mulvania of Lebanon, Missouri; and many nieces, nephews, other family members and wonderful friends.
Al was preceded in death by his parents and by his niece, Angel Mulvania-Blake.
