Kenneth L. Bowker, 75, of LeClaire, died Friday, November 27, 2015 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Sunday, November 29, 2015 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf.  Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the services on Sunday at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery in LeClaire.  Memorials may be made to the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House or to the American Cancer Society.

Ken was born August 1, 1940 in Davenport, the son of C.F. & Velma M. (Dodds) Bowker.  He was united in marriage to Linda Draper on December 14, 1991 in Argo, Iowa.  Ken served in the United States Air Force, stationed at Thule Air Base in Greenland.  Upon completing his service, Ken came home and went into business with his father at C.F. Bowker & Son Insurance Company.

Ken owned and operated the Argo General Store since 1986.  He loved horses, riding motorcycles and, most of all, spending time with family and friends.  Ken was also an avid Iowa Hawkeyes fan. He was a 50-year Mason and had volunteered for the LeClaire Fire Department for 15 years.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Linda; his children, Julie (David) Holmes of Illinois City, Illinois, Brenda Genthe of Littleton, Colorado, Barry (Teri Fickel) Bowker of Princeton, Iowa, Robin (Chad) Dohrmann of DeWitt, Iowa and Jerry (Peggy) Nielson of Davenport; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and his dog, “Bandit.”

Ken was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Sally Louck; his brother, Eugene Bowker; and two grandchildren.
