Kenneth E. Bunn, 89, a resident of Bettendorf, Iowa died Monday, May 7, 2012 at Trinity Bettendorf, Bettendorf, Iowa.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, May 11, 2012 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf. A Masonic service by Fraternal Lodge #221 will be held at 12:00 P.M. Visitation will be held from 12:00 P.M. to 1:00 P.M. Friday. Burial with military honors will be in Davenport Memorial Park, Davenport, Iowa. Memorials may be made to American Lung Association, Veterans of Foreign Wars or to the American Red Cross.
Kenneth was born on May 7, 1923 in Muscatine, Iowa the son of Albert and Helen (Downer) Bunn. He served as an aerial gunner in the United States Army Air Force in World War II. He was united in marriage to Mary L. Shoultz on February 4, 1945 in Muscatine. He and Mary moved to Arizona due to his health and lived there for thirty-two years.
He worked in many fields in his life including working for J. I. Case Company, the Rock Island Arsenal, he was a postal carrier and drove a school bus. He was a 50 year member of the Iowa Masonic Fraternal Lodge #221, Davenport.
He enjoyed bowling, playing black jack, NASCAR and was an avid sportsman.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Mary Bunn, Bettendorf; his daughter, Joyce (Jon) Smith, Bettendorf; his son, Thomas Kenneth Bunn, Mankato, Minnesota; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
