Kenneth A. Glover, 71, a resident of Donahue, Iowa died Monday, November 12, 2012 at Genesis Medical Center, West Campus, Davenport, Iowa.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 A.M. on Thursday, November 15, 2012 at Chambers Funeral Home, Eldridge, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 3:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park, Davenport. Memorials may be made to the Donahue American Legion Post 532, the Donahue Volunteer Fire Department or to Faith Lutheran Church.
Kenneth was born October 6, 1941 in Davenport the son of Arno J. and Erma (Dohse) Glover. He was united in marriage to Donna Sulser at Faith Lutheran Church. Eldridge on September 23, 1967.
He was a dairy and livestock farmer for many years. He later went to Scott Community College to become a truck driver. Prior to retirement he worked at the I-80 Truck Stop in Walcott, Iowa. He was also a salesman for Archer Petroleum for over thirty years.
He was a longtime member of the Donahue American Legion Post 532, a member of the National Farmers Organization and was Allan’s Grove Township Trustee for several years.
He enjoyed playing cards, hunting, bowling and spending time with family, friends and his grandchildren.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife Donna, Donahue; his daughters, Joy (Christopher) Bode, Dubuque, Iowa, Jeanne (Richard Siefers) Glover, Davenport and Kelly (Adam) Bjorkman, Colona, Illinois; his grandchildren, Victoria, Alexandria and Sophia Bode, Hayden Glover and Morgan, Raelyn, Erik and Grant Bjorkman; his brother, Allen Glover and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Cynthia and his parents.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Genesis Medical Centers and to the Donahue Volunteer Fire Department.
