Kenneth E. Mulvania, 63, of DeWitt, Iowa and formerly of LeClaire, Iowa, died Sunday, March 20, 2011 at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus in Davenport.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, March 25, 2011 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery in LeClaire with military honors conducted by the Buffalo Bill American Legion Post 347 of LeClaire. Memorials may be made to the family.
Ken was born May 20, 1947 in Mercer County, Missouri, the son of Clarence E. & Iola J. (Nickell) Mulvania. He was a 1965 graduate of Bettendorf High School and had attended AIC College. During this time, Ken served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict from 1966 to 1969.
Ken was united in marriage to Scharlet F. Overton on December 23, 1966 in St. Louis, Missouri.
He retired in 2004 as a forklift operator from Americold Logistics in Bettendorf and Uniparts Olson in Eldridge.
Ken enjoyed many things including Mopar Muscle cars and RC cars and planes. He enjoyed grilling out, camping, science-fiction and fishing. Ken also loved to share funny stories and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Scharlet; his daughters, Dianna Kaye Mulvania of Charlotte, Iowa and Lori Mulvania (Hacky Davis) of Charlotte; his sons, Chuck Mulvania of LeClaire, K. Allen (Macie) Mulvania of LeClaire and Michael Mulvania of Lebanon, Missouri; thirteen grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his sisters, Shirley (Fred) Harris of Bettendorf, Joyce (Gene) Martzahn of LeClaire and Donna Paarmann of Wheatland, Iowa; his brother, Rick (Debbie) Mulvania of Bettendorf; his sister-in-law, Melanie Forsythe; his mother-in-law, Dorothy Overton of Sikeston, Missouri; and several aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews and in-laws.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Ron Mulvania; his granddaughter, Angel Mulvania; and his father-in-law, Howard Overton.
