Kenneth E. “Kenny” Riedesel, 82, of Davenport, Iowa, died Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Senior Star at Elmore Place in Davenport.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the services on Wednesday at the funeral home. Private inurnment will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Ken was born July 28, 1934 in Davenport, the son of Ralph & Gertrude (Geu) Riedesel. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a well-loved barber for over 50 years, most recently owning Ken's Barbershop in Riverdale.
Ken was a member at Trinity Lutheran Church in Pleasant Valley. He enjoyed golfing, watching the Bears and was a diehard Cubs fan. He enjoyed gardening, cooking and his cat, Missy. He loved playing with babies and little children and his grandchildren all held a special place in his heart.
Those left to honor Ken’s memory include his daughters, Sheila Bosworth of Princeton, Iowa and Ronda Berg of Bettendorf; his grandchildren, Chris, Andy (Liz), Jaime and Tyler (Aeron) Bosworth and Paige, Peri and Eve Berg; his great-grandchildren, Calvin, Benjamin, Lily and Jackson; his former wife, Jan Riedesel of Bettendorf to whom he remained close and several nieces and nephews.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters and two brothers.
