Kenneth L. Stock

Kenneth LeRoy Stock, 75, a resident of Bettendorf, Iowa died Sunday, November 28, 2004 at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, November 30, 2004 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel, Bettendorf. Burial will be in Oakdale Memorial Gardens where military honors will be conducted. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Trinity Hospice or to the family.
He was born March 13, 1929 in Blue Grass, Iowa, the son of George & Amanda (Rearick) Stock and was a 1948 graduate of Davenport High School. He was united in marriage to Mary Fullmer in Davenport, Iowa in September of 1954. She preceded him in death in February of 1990. He was united in marriage to Leona M. Clayworth in Las Vegas, Nevada on December 21, 1993.
Ken retired in 1994 as a supervisor for Alcoa in the Cold Products Division for continuous processing. He had been with the Alcoa Company for 44 years.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, a member of the Davenport American Legion Post #26 and a member of Snow Lodge #44, A.F. & A.M. of LeClaire.
Kenny was known for his great sense of humor & contagious laugh. He enjoyed watching NASCAR racing. He was an avid Cubs & Iowa Hawkeye fan (even though his daughters both went to Iowa State). He enjoyed watching any sport on TV and anything his grandchildren participated in.
In his early years, he & his brothers formed their own championship bowling team. In addition, he drove a stock car and was a Golden Gloves champ in Iowa.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Leona; his daughters, Lynne Hayes & her husband, John of Davenport and Lisa Stock of Urbandale, Iowa; his son, David Stock & his wife, Starr of Phoenix, Arizona; his step-daughters, Cindy McKenrick & her husband, Don of Eldridge, Iowa and Vickie Bates & her husband, Rodney of LeClaire; nine grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; one step-great-granddaughter; his sisters, Marjorie Bates and Irene Stock, both of Davenport; and his brothers, Paul of Davenport, Robert of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Richard of Andover, Illinois, Russell of LeClaire and James of Blue Grass, Iowa.
In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Maxine, Grace & Betty; and his brothers, Donald, Lloyd & Wayne.
