Kenneth W. Froeschle, Sr., 86, of Bettendorf Iowa, died Tuesday, September 7, 2004 at Bettendorf Healthcare Center, Bettendorf. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, September 10, 2004 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel, Bettendorf. The family will greet friends from 1-2 P.M. on Friday at the funeral home. Graveside services will follow at Davenport Memorial Park, Davenport, Iowa, where military rites will be conducted. Memorials may be made to Bettendorf Christian Church or to the family.
Kenneth was born December 13, 1917 in Davenport, the son of William and Emma (Sandler) Froeschle. He was united in marriage to Cleova H. Smith on December 3, 1944 in Berryville, Arkansas. During World War II, Kenneth served as a military policeman in the U.S. Army. He was primarily employed as a truck driver for several years. He had also worked for the State of Iowa and had served as both Coroner and Deputy Sheriff in Scott County.
His memberships included the American Legion, Dixon, Iowa and the Moose Lodge of Davenport. Among the things he enjoyed were fishing, his family, and his friends.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife of 59 years, Cleova; his son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth W. & Shari Froeschle, Bettendorf; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; his sisters, Buddy Neuman, Geneseo, Illinois, and Ann Nielsen, Rapids City, Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his sons, George and Clyde; his grandsons, Wayne and George, Jr.; his sisters, Dorothy and Perky; and his brothers, Arthur and Guy.
