Kevin was born on January 21, 1959 in Davenport, the son of Daniel & Mary Ann (Weimers) Jacobs. A graduate of Bettendorf High School, he joined the National Guard followed by the United States Army and relocated to Germany where he had resided for the past 40 years.
Kevin never missed an opportunity to create lifelong memories with family and friends. He had a zest for life that few carry with them at all times. It was rare to see or hear Kevin in a bad mood or disappointed about anything for too long. Kevin loved to dance and listen to music, classic iconic songs from his younger years. Kevin was an amazing cook and he enjoyed arranging new culinary dishes and sharing them with others as often as he could. Kevin will be missed greatly by so many!
Those left to honor Kevin’s memory include his daughters, Nadine (Andre) Jacobs-Arnold and Lisa Jacobs; his son, Tom Weis; his grandson, Lenny Arnold; his sisters, Jackie (Pat) Jacobs-Wright of Davenport, Jamie Long of Bettendorf and Mary (Steve) Long-Tometich of Bettendorf; his brothers, Jim (Sue) Long of Bettendorf, John (Melissa) Long of Camanche, Iowa, Mark Jacobs of Bettendorf and Bill (Natalie) Long of LeClaire, Iowa; several nieces and nephews; and a large extended family in Germany.
Kevin was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel Jacobs and Mary Ann Long; his step-father, Jim Long; and his sister-in-law, Mary Beth Hoffman-Jacobs.
There is an open invite to Ross’ Restaurant in Bettendorf, one of Kevin’s favorite childhood staples, with the family after the service on Friday from 3:30-6:00.
