Kwi Yo “Rose” Arvik, 71, a resident of Bettendorf, Iowa passed away on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at her home following a courageous battle with cancer.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Burial will follow at the Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. on Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Scott County Humane Society by visiting https://hssc.us/ways-to-give.
She was born in Busan, Korea on September 16, 1949, the daughter of Jong Bum Yi and Tae Yon Yi. On December 5, 1974, she was united in marriage to David D. Arvik in Belton, Texas.
Rose was a devoted wife, mom & grandma who was an accomplished cook, enjoyed flower gardening and had a special place in heart for animals.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband, David; her sons, Dustin Arvik of Bettendorf and Dennis Arvik of Cleveland, Ohio; her grandson, Jacob (Kara) Arvik; her great-grand child, Kaia; her mother, Tae Yon Yi; her sisters, Kwi Hae Pettersen, Kwi Soon (Paul) Knutson, Soon Re Tchang and Tae Bong (GunDo) Park; and her brother, Min Woo (Su) Yi.
She was preceded in death by her son, Curtis Richard Arvik; and her father, Jong Bum Yi.
