Larry Gaskey

Larry L. Gaskey, 50, of Davenport, died suddenly on Sunday, January 2, 2011 at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, January 7, 2011 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family.

Larry was born August 13, 1960 in Davenport, the son of Archie & Jeraldine (Fahrenkrug) Gaskey. He served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1982.

He was united in marriage to Christine Ann Worton in 2003 in Rock Island, Illinois.

Larry had been employed as a truck driver with CPC Logistics. He was an avid sportsman and enjoyed fishing, golfing and was an accomplished bowler. He was a fan of football, particularly the Iowa Hawkeyes. Larry also enjoyed watching NASCAR, working games and puzzles and the company of his dogs.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Christine; his mother, Jeraldine; his sister and brother-in-law, Janice & Rodney Levsen of Muscatine, Iowa; his brother and sister-in-law; Gary & Jackie Gaskey of Silver Springs, Florida; one niece; three nephews; one great-grand niece; and two great-grand nephews.

Larry was preceded in death by his father, Archie.
