Larry L. Hines

Larry L. Hines, 55, a resident of Davenport, Iowa died Wednesday, January 14, 2004 at his home following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held at at 1:00 P.M. Friday, January 16, 2004 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel, Bettendorf, Iowa. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family.
He was born October 26, 1948 in Davenport, the son of Robert & Myrtle (Hill) Hines. On January 28, 1967, he was united in marriage to Linda S. Collett in Rock Island, Illinois.
Larry was employed by the former Pillsbury Elevators in Davenport and had also been a pipefitter with Alter & Sons in Davenport.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, was an avid stock car racing fan, loved to work on cars, enjoyed listening to country music and treasured the times spent with his beloved grandchildren.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Linda; his daughters, Sharon Bunten, Brenda Hines, Peggy Townley and Pamela Tracy, all of Davenport and Barbara Hohmann of Canton, Iowa; his son, Larry Hines II; sixteen grandchildren; one great-grandchild; his mother, Myrtle Hines of Davenport; his sisters, Elizabeth Sanders and Dorothy Collett, both of Davenport; and his brothers, Melvin Hines and Robert Hines, both of Davenport.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Gary Woodruff; and by his father, Robert.
