Laura Anderson

Laura Anderson, 85, of Buffalo, Iowa, passed away on Friday, March 12, 2021 at her home

Private family services will be held at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf.  She will laid to rest at Rose Hill Cemetery in Buffalo. Memorials may be made to the Buffalo Volunteer Fire Department.

Laura was born in Davenport, Iowa on September 2, 1935, the daughter of Alfred Laurence and Irma Irene (Lashell) Sennett.  On March 31, 1956, she was united in marriage to Lyle E. Anderson in Davenport.  He preceded her in death on April 11, 2018.

Among the things Laura enjoyed were doing crafts, camping and fishing.  Her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the joy of her life. Whether it was baseball, football or any other event, "Grandma" was always there to share in their achievements and activities.  She was an avid fan of the TV show, “Walking Dead” and rarely missed an episode.

Those left to honor her memory include his daughters and sons-in-law, Barb & Dean Mayers of Buffalo, Debbie & Robin Guenther of Buffalo, Donna Carlson of Davenport and Kathy Anderson of Buffalo; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and her sisters, Dorothy Batten and Claudia Roberts, both of Davenport.  The family will always be grateful to Laura's close and special friends, Shane Riley who faithfully cared for Laura's hair over the years and Christian Fogel, her "adopted" grandson who was always willing to lend at hand wherever help was needed at her home.

In addition to her husband, Lyle, Laura was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Shirley DePardo; her brother, Alfred “Sonny” Sennett Jr. and three grandchildren.

The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the staff of Genesis Hospice for the loving and professional care shown to their mother during her illness.
