Laverne M. O'Hare

LaVerne M. O’Hare, 100, a resident of the Bettendorf Healthcare Center, Bettendorf, Iowa died on Monday, August 14, 2006 at the center.
Her funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, August 17, 2006 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Bettendorf where she was a loyal member. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. Thursday at the church. Memorials may be made to the Bettendorf Healthcare Center. McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf is assisting the family with arrangements.
She was born August 1, 1906 in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of William & Emma (Shell) Kranung. On April 17, 1926, she was united in marriage to Stewart O’Hare in St. Louis. He preceded her in death on April 18, 1984.
LaVerne was an excellent cook and loved to care for her flower garden. In earlier years, she also enjoyed the company of her pet canaries.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughter, Shirley Schaab of Bettendorf; her grandchildren, Gregory Schaab of Davenport and Suzanne Pearson of Moline, Illinois; and her great-grandchildren, Bradley, Carol Ann & Kathleen.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Terry; her sister, Bernice Stierman; and her brothers, Bud, Sonny & Curtis.
