Leonard L. Stephenson

Leonard L Stephenson, 70, of Davenport, died Thursday, April 6, 2006 at Pathway Hospice at Terrace Park after a short bout with cancer.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Monday, April 10, 2006 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel, Bettendorf. Visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Davenport. Memorials may be made to the family.
Leonard was born November 30, 1935, the son of Homer and Alice (Cook) Stephenson. He was united in marriage to Mary Briggs on March 26, 1960 in Rock Island, Illinois.
Leonard was employed for 35 years at Nichols Homeshield. In his leisure time, he enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and going to the casinos. He was an avid sports fan, enjoying the San Francisco 49ers and the Iowa Hawkeyes.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Mary; his daughters and sons in-law, Cheryl and Wayne Davis, Paula and John Gabor, and Pam Heath; his son and daughter in-law, Doug and Christine Stephenson; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his sisters Sally Coffman, Lois Thornburg, Myra Davis, Karen Rohm, and Gloria Batteau; his brothers, Leroy Kemper and George Dumerauf; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
