Leroy E. Engler

LeRoy Edwin Engler, 73, a resident of Eldridge, Iowa died Wednesday, July 12, 2006 at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, July 14, 2006 at Park View Lutheran Church in Park View, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Thursday at Chambers Funeral Home, Eldridge, Iowa. Burial will be at Davenport Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Park View Lutheran Church or the family.
Mr. Engler was born February 8, 1933 in rural Donahue, Iowa the son of Ulrich & Tena (Glunz) Engler. He was united in marriage to Norma Arnold on December 30, 1955 in Davenport, Iowa. LeRoy was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. He retired from farming in 1989.
He enjoyed spending time with his grandkids, watching his lawn grow and waving at friends & neighbors as they went by.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Norma; his children & their spouses, Rick & Pennie Engler and Todd & Dawn Engler, all of Donahue; his grandchildren, Valerin and her fiancée, Ashley Morris of Las Vegas, Nevada, James Gimbel of Donahue & his fiancée, Katie Thomas of North Liberty, Iowa, Ben, Austin and Brandon Engler, all of Donahue; and his sisters, Annebelle Finck of Durant, Iowa and Dorothy Wuster of Washington, Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Hannah Quick, Emma Voss, Ruth Huesmann, Arlene Hamilton, and Barbara Engler; and his brothers, Rudy, Arnold, Emery, Harvey and Lester.
