Leslee Valentini

Funeral services for Leslee Ann Valentini, 71, of Ankeny, will be 10:00 am on Tuesday at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf, Iowa. The burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Moline, IL at a later date. Family will greet friends on Monday from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.

Leslee passed away on March 8, 2023, at her home in Ankeny, IA.

Leslee was born on June 23, 1951, in Mannheim, Germany, the daughter of Heartsill and Thelma (Johnson) Wise.  As the daughter of an Army family, Leslee grew up in various locations throughout the world including, Germany, Taiwan, Hawaii, Colorado, and San Francisco before settling in the Quad Cities area where she met and married Curtis Edmondson in Rock Island. They raised three boys and were later divorced. Leslee graduated from Black Hawk College in 1989 where she received her degree in Nursing. She worked as an OB Nurse for Illini Hospital, Silvis, IL and in several related fields including John Deere Health, visiting nurses and as a case manager for Occupational Health. After 31 years of touching many lives with her warm smile and gentle grace, she retired in 2020.

Leslee’s interests included travel, cooking, loving animals, interior design, shopping, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her sons, Christopher Edmondson of West Des Moines, IA, Michael (Angela) Edmondson of Sumter, SC, Steven Edmondson of Coal Valley, IL, grandchildren, Marcella, Maya, Dominic, Grace, Jordan, sisters, Linda Wilson of Ankeny, IA, Lynette Valentini of Switzerland, and brother, Alex Steubing of Mississippi.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
