Leta R. Loetz, 93, a resident of Graham, Texas, formerly of Bettendorf, passed away Thursday, May 21, 2015 at her home.
Funeral services celebrating her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 29, 2015 at the First Baptist Church in Bettendorf. Burial will be at Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 28 th at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, Solaris Hospice in Graham, Texas, or to the donor’s choice.
Born on February 13, 1922 in Rising Star, Texas, Leta was the daughter of General Weaver and Allie Mae (Angel) Boyd. On June 1, 1943 in Odessa, Texas, she married Larry J. Loetz. He preceded her in death.
Leta was employed at the Ralston-Purina Co. of Davenport for 18 ½ years and in her earlier years, had been employed as a waitress. She was an active volunteer for various area organizations and was a member of First Baptist Church in Bettendorf.
Those left to honor her memory include her sons, Terry W. Loetz of Eliasville, Texas and Ronald L. (Jody) Loetz of Davenport, Iowa; her daughter, Dixie Lee Martin of Guttenberg, Iowa; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; and her brother, Kenneth D. Boyd of Amarillo, Texas.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Ouida Wright, two grandchildren and her daughter-in-law, Dolores Loetz.
