Lillian L. Manahan, 94, a resident of Davenport, Iowa died Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, Iowa.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, March 16, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Davenport. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park, Davenport. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Disabled American Veterans.
Lillian was born July 30, 1917 in Wapello, Iowa the daughter of Samuel and Iva Pearl (Wilson) Sturms. She was united in marriage to LeRoy Cooper in Burlington, Iowa in 1936. She later married Charles A. Manahan in Geneseo, Illinois on July 28, 1951. He preceded her in death April 11, 1983.
Lillian worked for many years as a Receiving Clerk for K-Mart in Bettendorf.
She was a very active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Davenport. She enjoyed reading, sitting on her porch feeding and watching birds, crocheting and spending time with her family.
Those left to honor her memory include her son, Merle LeRoy Cooper, Davenport; her “daughter”, Pat (Jim) St. John; her grandchildren, Sandra Flenker and Kimbra (Jeff) Jager, both of Davenport; her great-grand-children, Nick (Melissa) Flenker, Nate (Angie) Flenker, Grant Flenker, Kyle Jager and Brady Jager; her great-great-grandchildren, Brooklynn and Bryce Flenker; her niece, Sandy Fleming, Burlington, and her best friend, Margaret Bettendorf, Davenport.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her brothers Albert and Dewain and her sister Evelyn.
