Linda F. Jacobsen, 50, of LeClaire, Iowa, died Saturday, September 3, 2011 at her home following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Private burial services will be held at Davenport Memorial Park.
Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association or to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Linda was born June 9, 1961 in Davenport, Iowa, the daughter of Glen & Thelma (Warren) Glines.
She grew up in the Davenport area and married Robert “Jake” Jacobsen on October 9, 1993.
She had most recently been employed by the Pleasant Valley School System.
Linda was known for her strong work ethic and had previously worked in various fields including waitressing, nursing, cosmetology and child care.
Linda had a deep love for her family that was evident in both her words and her actions.
She was always there for her family and was a source of comfort through thick and thin.
She was an artistic and creative individual as expressed in her poetry, craft projects and cooking.
She made the best darned fried chicken you ever tasted.
Linda was extremely a passionate in all her endeavors and lived her life to the fullest.
She loved the music of life and marched to the beat of her own drum.
Those who knew Linda will always remember her sense of humor and her great laugh.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Jake; her sons and daughters-in-law, Jason & Lorann Kennedy of Davenport and Nathan & Audrey Kennedy of Des Moines, Iowa; her daughter and son-in-law, Catie “Catie Girl” & Gus Moench of Pleasant Valley, Iowa; her brothers, Alen (Kari) Glines of Moline, Illinois and Kenneth Glines of Bettendorf;
her sister, Glenda (Dave) Betts of North Liberty, Iowa; her grandchildren, Jaquin Glines, Kail Glines, Nathan Kennedy, Robert Kennedy, Kera Kennedy, Skyler Jahns, Rayanne Jahns and Georgia Moench; many nieces and nephews and a large extended family.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents; her grandmother, Ethel Warren; and her sister-in-law, Bo Glines.
