Linda Robbins

Linda Lou Robbins, 72, a resident of Bettendorf, Iowa died on Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus in Davenport, Iowa.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Friday, August 29, 2014 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel in Bettendorf.  Burial will be private.  Visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. on Friday at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gilda’s Club.

She was born in Davenport on January 18, 1942, the daughter of Curtis Noble & Cora Evelyn (McHargue) Johnson and was a 1960 graduate of Bettendorf High School.  On January 12, 1963, she was united in marriage to Charles Robbins in Bettendorf.

In earlier years, Linda was employed for Alcoa and later with the Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company as a claims clerk.

Linda will always be fondly remembered for her great sense of style, her sultry voice and her unfailing sense of humor.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Charles; her daughter, Suzon Esser of Bettendorf; her son, Scott (Michelle) Robbins of Bettendorf; her grandsons, Curtis Robbins, Taylor Robbins and Noble Esser; her sister, Beverly (Robert) Peterson of Eufala, Alabama; her brother, Curt (Suzanne) Johnson of Bettendorf; several beloved nieces & nephews; and many treasured and wonderful friends.

Linda was preceded in death by her daughter, Sherri Robbins-Thune; her son-in-law, Kevin Esser; and by her parents.
