Linda Shaffer

A celebration of life for Linda S. Shaffer, 65, of Davenport, will be held on, Thursday, July 15, 2021 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Gypsy Highway, (2606 W Locust St, Davenport, IA 52804).

Linda passed away on Tuesday, July 6, 2021, at her home in Davenport. Linda S. Stenger was born on May 5, 1956 in Davenport, the daughter of William and Alice (Walker) Stenger. She married Lee Shaffer on January 27, 1973 in Davenport.

In her early years she worked day care, and 7-11. She then worked for Urological Associates and in the billing dept for Dr. Colantoni, retiring in 2016.

Linda enjoyed spending time with her family, and loved watching and keeping the grandchildren overnight. Up until her sickness she carried that on with her great-granddaughter.

Linda is survived by her husband; Lee, of Davenport, daughter; Stacey (Darrell Kelly) Shaffer of Davenport, son: Lee (Amanda) Shaffer of Davenport, grandchildren, Karlee, Kenell, Austin, Emilee, Ketrell, Chloe and great-grandchild, Alani, who Linda called butterfly. She is also survived by her father, William (Kathy) Stenger of Davenport and brother; Don (Karen) Stenger of Iowa City, Iowa, and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Alice Stenger , brother, Mick Stenger and sister, Lisa Mallette.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.

The family would like to thank the staff at Genesis Hospice and the staff at the University of Iowa Hospital for their care during her illness.
