Lisa G. Lee

Lisa G. Lee, 40, a resident of Eldridge, Iowa passed away on Saturday, May 13, 2006 after a long & courageous battle with depression.
Her funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, May 17, 2006 at Faith Lutheran Church in Eldridge where she was a member. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Davenport, Iowa. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. Tuesday at Chambers Funeral Home, Eldridge. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be to the family for an educational fund for her sons.
She was born November 13, 1965 in Sterling, Illinois, the daughter of Ronald G. & Karol S. (Wagner) Gerken and was a 1983 graduate of Sterling High School. She also graduated from the American Institute of Commerce and Marycrest College in Davenport with a Bachelor’s degree in nutritional science. In addition, she earned an advanced degree in nutrition from the University of Iowa.
On September 28, 1996, she was united in marriage to Kevin R. Lee at Grace Lutheran Church in Davenport.
Lisa was employed by Coram Health Care, Inc. of Davenport as a registered dietician with an emphasis on nutritional infusion. She was devoted to her work and led a support group for those suffering with Crohnss & Colitis.
She was a member of the Iowa Dietetic Association where she was honored by being named “Young Dietician of the Year.”
Lisa was active in PTA at Ed White Elementary School in Eldridge where she served on the advertising and decorations committee for the school festival. She also volunteered on the “Teacher Appreciation Week.”
Among the things she enjoyed were exercising, walking, riding her bike and eating healthy. Her family was the joy of her life and although she’ll be sadly missed, her memory will live forever in the hearts of those who knew & loved her.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Kevin and their sons, Brendon, Logan and Austin; her parents, Ronald & Karol Gerken of Sterling, Illinois; her sister & brother-in-law, Rhonda & Ron Happach of Highlands Ranch, Colorado; her brother & sister-in-law, Terry & Mary Gerken of Sterling; her great-aunt, Marian Smith of Sterling (whom she fondly regarded at her “2nd Grandma); her mother-in-law, Arlene J. Lee of Platteville, Wisconsin; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and many wonderful friends.
Lisa was preceded in death by her grandparents.
