Loistine Penny

Loistine Penny, 60, a resident of Davenport, Iowa formerly of Mississippi died Thursday, June 3, 2010 at 10:30 A.M. at Trinity Bettendorf.
As per her wishes a memorial service will be held in Friars Point, Mississippi at a later date. Memorials may be made to the family.
Loistine was born June 7, 1949 in Tutwiler, Mississippi the daughter of Charlie and Rosie (McDonald) Walker. She was united in marriage to Herbert Penny in Friars Point, Mississippi in 1964. He preceded her in death in December of 1997.
Loistine worked in catering services for many years. She enjoyed fishing and loved being with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughter, Dr. Candace Penny Williams of Virginia; her sons, Herbert “Jimmy” Penny II of Georgia and Jacques “Jock” Penny of Iowa; her step-daughters, Kim, Katrina, Thara, Carmelita, Kylisha and Tomeka, her grandchildren, Lanesuia, Whitney, Herlisha, Kylisha, Mya and Derrick; her six and ½ great-grandchildren, her sister, Brenda Gathings of Iowa; her brother, Henry Mayes of Mississippi and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to her husband Herbert she was preceded in death by her parents.
