Loren E. Evans

Loren E. Evans, 68, a resident of Bettendorf, Iowa died on Saturday, November 05, 2005 at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus in Davenport, Iowa.
Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. Monday, November 7, 2005 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf. Private family graveside services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
He was born March 24, 1937 near Dows, Iowa, the son of Dolliver & Marie (Bernsmeier) Evans and was a graduate of the Iowa State Teacher’s College at Cedar Falls, Iowa.
Loren spent most of his adult life farming their family farm between Williams, Iowa and Dows, Iowa. He retired in 1989 and moved to Bettendorf.
He ate virtually every meal out and was a familiar and friendly figure at the former Bishop’s Cafeteria at Duck Creek Mall, the Cracker Barrel Restaurant in Davenport and the Maid-Rite in Bettendorf.
Those left to honor his memory include his brother & sister-in-law, Ar Dean & Lois Evans of Davenport.
Loren was preceded in death by his parents.
