Lorene Wilkerson, 78, a resident of Davenport, Iowa died on Wednesday, November 8, 2006 at the Bettendorf Healthcare Center in Bettendorf, Iowa. She had resided with her daughter in Davenport prior to her illness.
Her funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday, November 13, 2006 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel, Bettendorf. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline, Illinois. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church of Davenport.
She was born July 28, 1928 in Rock Island, Illinois. Lorene was married to Alvin Jacks in Davenport, Iowa.
She was employed in data processing at the Alcoa Company, worked at Farmall in Rock Island, Illinois and worked in property management in Corpus Christi, Texas and in the Quad-Cities.
Among the things she enjoyed were spending time with her beloved family, knitting and playing blackjack.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughter & son-in-law, Connie & Jack Pond of Davenport; her son & daughter-in-law, Danny & Ladana Jacks of Milan, Illinois; her grandchildren, Heather Sturtewagen, Rich Fontenoy, James Fontenoy, Mark Fontenoy, Samuel Jacks and Savana Jacks; her great-grandchildren, Ryan Iverson, Dylan Iverson, Nicholas Sturtewagen, Reid Fontenoy and Hunter Fontenoy; her sister & brother-in-law, Rita & Bill Snider of Davenport; her nephews & their wives, Larry & Kathy Snider and Steve & Theresa Snider; and her grand-nieces, Jenny & Corey Ann.
Lorene was preceded in death by her parents, Norene & Bob Rice.
