Louise Keppy

March 2, 1932 — September 6, 2017

Louise M. Keppy, 85, of Eldridge, Iowa passed away Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, September 11, 2017 at Faith Lutheran Church in Eldridge where she was a member.   Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday at the church. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery in Davenport.  Memorials may be made to Faith Lutheran Church.

Louise was born March 2, 1932 in Davenport, Iowa, the daughter of Robert E. & Lillie (Bucks) Knuth.  She had attended the former Davenport High School.

She was united in marriage to Henry W. “Hank” Keppy III on January 6, 1951 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Davenport.  He preceded her in death on February 9, 2011 after 60 years of marriage.

Louise farmed alongside her husband on the family farm for many years.  Together, they had been members of the Elks Lodge and the Davenport Moose.  She and Hank had enjoyed Ballroom dancing at area ballrooms.  In earlier years, she had been employed with the former Eldridge Pharmacy.  In addition to her church, she was a member of the Scott County Women’s Farm Bureau and she spent many hours volunteering for North Scott Schools and 4-H.  She especially enjoyed her loving family, supporting and caring for them with all of her heart.

Those left to honor her memory include her daughters, Karen (James) Uschkrat of Sugar Land, Texas and Donna (Don) Hamann of Davenport; her sons, Gary (Pat) Keppy of Fort Worth, Texas and Tom Keppy of Maysville, Iowa; her grandchildren, Kristina Lynch, Kari Crowder, Katie Moody, Gary E. Keppy, Betsy Uschkrat, Susan Uschkrat, Aaron Keppy, Brett Hamann and Brooke Hamann; nine great-grandchildren; and her step-sister, Lillian Ehlers of Walcott, Iowa.

In addition to her husband, Hank, she was preceded in death by her parents; her step-father, Harry Ehlers; her sister, Dorothy Siebke; and her brother, Robert Knuth.
