Obituary: Lou M. Petersen
Lou M. Petersen, 96, a resident of Bettendorf, Iowa, died on Tuesday, February 27, 2007 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, March 2, 2007 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel, Bettendorf. Burial will be at a later date in Oak Hill Cemetery, Bristow, Iowa. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services on Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR).
Lou was born December 31, 1910 in Kellerton, Iowa, the daughter of William E. & Bertha A. (Barnes) Patrick. On December 27, 1927, she was united in marriage to John Wesley Petersen in Chariton, Iowa. He preceded her in death on September 13, 1984.
Lou was a devoted mother, homemaker and a proud wife of a United Methodist minister. She enjoyed reading and, in her later years, politics. She had spent the last nine years living with her daughter, Mary Lou.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughter, Mary Lou Petersen of Bettendorf; and several nieces & nephews.
Lou was preceded in death by her husband; her daughter Patricia Jeanette; her sisters Mable & Ardis; her brother Harold; and her son-in-law, Peter C. Petersen.
