Lovell D. Hoffmann, 88, a resident of Donahue, Iowa died on Sunday, July 16, 2006 at the Kahl Home in Davenport, Iowa where she had recently resided.
There will be no visitation or funeral. Private family services will be held at the Rock Island National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Kahl Home or the Donahue American Legion Post 532. Chambers Funeral Home, Eldridge, Iowa is assisting the family with arrangements.
She was born July 10, 1918 in New Liberty, Iowa, the daughter of William & Ella (Schmidt) Miller and was a 1935 graduate of Davenport High School. On April 12, 1940, she was united in marriage to LeRoy B. “Bud” Hoffmann in Davenport. He preceded her in death on October 27, 2004.
Lovell & her husband cared for and took great pride in their farm in rural Donahue for over 40 years. They league bowled for over 50 years and spent many enjoyable hours playing cards with their family & friends.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughter & son-in-law, Carole & Michael Stoner of East Moline, Illinois; her son & daughter-in-law, Mike & Julie Hoffmann of Donahue; her grandson, Scott Hoffmann of Eldridge; her granddaughter & grandson-in-law, Dana & Steve Mosnik of Marion, Iowa; her step-grandson & his wife, Fred & Monica Stoner of Moline, Illinois; her great-grandchildren, Jenna & Brody; her sister-in-law, Marilyn Speth; her brothers-in-law, Hank Ralfs, Duane (Adeline) Hoffmann and Allan (Jeanette) Hoffmann; many nieces & nephews; and her very special friends, Corella Levien, Jo Hermann and Bernice Wulf.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Ethel Staub and Nola Ralfs; and her brother, Elmer Miller.
