Luanna Violet Leuth, 77, a resident of LeClaire, Iowa died on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at the Clarissa Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at the First Presbyterian Church of LeClaire where she was a member. She will be laid to rest at Glendale Cemetery in LeClaire. Visitation will be from 3:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. on Tuesday at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf and one hour prior to the services Wednesday at the church. Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church or the Buffalo Bill Museum of LeClaire.
She was born July 11, 1935 in Argo, Iowa, the daughter of Alfred & Eulalia (Knipfer) Carstens and was a graduate of LeClaire High School. On August 20, 1955, she was united in marriage to Rodney D. Leuth in LeClaire. He preceded her in death on September 20, 1998.
In an earlier period in her life, she worked for many years as a secretary for Modern Woodmen Insurance Company of Rock Island.
She enjoyed doing volunteer work at the Buffalo Bill Museum in LeClaire and was a former member of the LeClaire Civic Club. Luanna loved watching the cardinals outside her home and was especially fond of her cats.
Those left to honor her memory include her sister, Vivian (Frank) Martin of LeClaire; her brother, Carl (Carolyn) Carstens of LeClaire; her nieces, Carrie Carstens, Connie Dayton and Brenda Chapman; her nephews, Jaysen Martin, Koral Martin and Landon Martin; many great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and a great-great-nephew; along with many other relatives and wonderful friends.
In addition to her husband, Luanna was preceded in death by her daughter, Ronda Leuth.
