Lucas Johnson

Lucas Joshua Johnson, 34, of Eldridge, passed away, Wednesday, March 16, 2016 as a result of an automobile accident.

Born on July 18, 1981 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Luc was the son of Homer and Kathryn (Jinks) Johnson. Luc served his country in the United States Air Force from 2000-2004, stationed in Japan for three and one half years.

He received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from Iowa State University.

On November 30, 2012, he married his boopy, Kourtney Flenker. Luc worked as a Civil Engineer P.E. at Shive-Hattery, Inc. in Moline, Illinois. Luc was known for his quirky sense of humor, love of heavy metal, passion for history and planes, his artistic nature, his enthusiasm for the outdoors and farming and his athletic pursuits. Luc cherished his time spent with family, especially his son and his dog, Chip.

Those left to honor his memory include his beloved wife, Kourtney Johnson; son, Winston Johnson; parents, Homer and Kathryn Johnson of Madrid, Iowa; grandmother, Mary Jinks of Gansevoort, New York; sister, Sarah (Jay) Becker of LeMars, Iowa; nephews, William and Swen; father and mother-in-law, Kevin and Corinne Flenker of Long Grove; sister-in-law, Kelly (Darin) Wernke of Davenport; and brother-in-law, Kalvin Flenker of Long Grove.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, William Jinks.

Funeral services celebrating his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at Faith Lutheran Church in Eldridge. Visitation will be on Monday, March 21st from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the church. Memorials may be made to the family. Chambers Funeral Home in Eldridge is assisting the family with arrangements.
