Lucille L. French, 91, a resident of Davenport, Iowa, died Friday, October 14, 2005 at her home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, October 17, 2005 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel, Bettendorf. Visitation will be held from 2:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M., Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery, Rock Island, Illinois. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Beacon of Hope Hospice.
Lucille was born August 6, 1914 in Mauston, Wisconsin, the daughter of Oscar & Veronica (Walsh) Richardson. She was united in marriage to Irvin French in Chicago, Illinois on November 9, 1939. He preceded her in death in September 1989. Lucille and Irvin owned and operated the El Rancho Villa Restaurant in Bettendorf for many years.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughter, Sue E. Kernan; her grandchildren, Chuck Seitz, and his wife, Diane, Tami Seitz, Kevin Kernan and his wife, Jen, and Sean and Amy Kernan; her great-grandchildren, Stephanie & Chris Seitz, Megan and Alexa Parkin; and the light of our lives, great-granddaughter, “the little sweetie” Maisey J. Kernan.
