Luella B. Lineburg

Luella Bernice Lineburg, 90, a resident of DeWitt, Iowa and formerly of Long Grove, Iowa died Tuesday, November 4, 2003 at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, November 8, 2003 at Chambers Funeral Home, Eldridge, Iowa. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Iowa Veterans Home, Marshalltown, Iowa.
She was born June 4, 1913 in Scott County, Iowa, the daughter of Henry & Etta (Meinert) Buhman. On March 4, 1933, she married Arno M. Lineburg in Ottawa, Illinois. He preceded her in death on February 13, 1977.
Luella & her husband farmed in Scott County for many years. In earlier years, she was employed at the Rock Island Arsenal during World War II and was employed at the former Bronze Lantern in Davenport. In addition, she & her good friend, Alberta Matzen hung wallpaper in many area homes for a number of years.
Her memberships included the World War II Mothers and the former DeWitt Moose Lodge. She was a faithful volunteer at the Long Grove Community Center and participated in a wide variety of community activities over the years. She loved to play cards with her many friends and was an accomplished cook and baker as well. Above all else, her family was the most important part of her life and she will be dearly missed, but fondly remembered by all who loved her.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughters & sons-in-law, Barb & Bill Ernst of Clinton, Iowa and Beverly & Chris Heidgerken of Davenport; her sons & daughters-in-law, Wayne Lineburg of Silver Lake, California, Dale & Doni Lineburg of Wyoming, Iowa and Bill & Vikki Lineburg of LeClaire, Iowa; thirteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren with another expected soon; her sister, Grace Carlson of Margate, Florida; her sisters-in-law, Garnett Lineburg of Tempe, Arizona, June Lineburg of Bettendorf, Iowa and Vi Buhman of Davenport; and many nieces, nephews & cousins.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, John Buhman.
