Lyla Onstot

Lyla Ann Onstot, 60, a resident of Bettendorf, Iowa died Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at her home.

Graveside services will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Monday, July 11, 2011 at the Hampton Cemetery, Hampton, Illinois. Memorials may be made to the Scott County Humane Society.

Lyla was born February 24, 1951 in Perry, Iowa the daughter of Lyle and Reita (Blair) Reeves. She graduated from Perry High School in 1969. She was united in marriage to Dean Schlicht in Rippey, Iowa in June of 1969. She was later united in marriage to Dick Onstot. They have since parted ways.

Lyla worked as a janitorial technician for KJS Janitorial.

She enjoyed collecting antiques, playing with computers, drawing, playing tricks on her family and was an animal lover especially horses and her two cats.

Those left to honor her memory include her daughter, Deanna Collier, Kansas City, Kansas; her grandsons, Jacob and Nicholas Weber, her mother Reita Smith, Ogden, Iowa; her sisters Cherie (Harp) Wilson, East Moline, Illinois, Melony (Terry) Wisecup, Princeton, Iowa and Lisa (Brian) Strait, Madrid, Iowa; her brothers, Kevin (Denise) Reeves, Hampton, Illinois, Allen Reeves, Germany and David Reeves, Colona, Illinois; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and her special friends, William, Julie and Kathy.

She was preceded in death by her father, Lyle Reeves; her step-father, Gordon Smith and her step-mother, Dottie Reeves.
