Lyle Ross Jr.

Lyle Laverne (Jolly Lolly) Ross Jr., 79, a resident of Davenport, Iowa died Sunday, February 19, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Nursing Center, Davenport, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, February 24, 2012 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family.

Lyle was born October 9, 1932 in Davenport, Iowa the son of Lyle Lavern & Mildred (Clark) Ross Sr. He served in the United States Navy from 1954 to 1958.

Lyle worked at Sivyer Steel in Bettendorf for twenty-seven years and later worked for Metropolitan Lab for six years.

He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, dancing, metal crafting and motorcycle poker runs.

Those left to honor his memory include his daughters, Kelly Ann (Larry) Simmons and Nicole Marie (Tim) Murphy; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; his sister, Beverly Montague, Moline, Illinois and Patricia Young, Salem, Oregon and his brother, Ronald Buskirk, St. Louis, Missouri.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his step-father, Raymond Buskirk and his brother, Raymond Buskirk Jr.
