Lyle A. Winslow, 88, a resident of LeClaire, Iowa died unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at Trinity Rock Island.
Private family services will be held. Memorials may be made to the LeClaire Volunteer Fire Department. McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home of Bettendorf, Iowa is assisting the family with arrangements.
He was born in Hebron, Nebraska on June 20, 1924, the son of Roy & Viva (Scholle) Winslow. On July 1, 1950, he was united in marriage to Charlotte E. Marshall in Iowa City, Iowa.
Lyle retired from the Alcoa Company, Davenport Works after 37 years of faithful service.
Those left to honor his memory include his beloved wife, Charlotte; his son, Dan (Debbie) Winslow of LeClaire; his grandchildren, Randy (Aubrey) Winslow, Matt (Emily) Winslow, Derek (Kristin) Winslow and Steffane Winslow; his great-grandchildren, Reese, Aidan, Gretchen, Jack, Charlie & Payton; his sister, Ruth Potter of Spooner, Wisconsin; and his brother, Wayne (Clarann) Winslow of Omaha, Nebraska.
Lyle was preceded in death by his son, Randy; his sister, Beth; and his brothers, Bobby and Don.
