Lynette E. Andrews, 59, of Dixon, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, August 10, 2014 at her home surrounded by her beloved family following her courageous battle with cancer.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, August 14, 2014 at Chambers Funeral Home in Eldridge, Iowa.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice.

Lynn was born March 31, 1955 in Moline, Illinois, the daughter of James & Delores (Miller) Black.  She was united in marriage to Douglas Joe Andrews on June 12, 1982 in Moline.  He preceded her in death on February 17, 2014.

Lynn was a 1973 graduate of Central High School in Davenport and then attended St. Ambrose University.

Lynn was employed as a legal secretary for several years.  She and Doug loved to golf. They enjoyed playing euchre in their card club, attending auctions and watching NASCAR.  Lynn also enjoyed playing bingo and collected Campbell’s Soup memorabilia.

Those left to honor her memory include her daughter, Aimee (Jeff) Marple of Donahue, Iowa; her son, Matt (Abby) Andrews of Maysville, Iowa; her grandchildren, Blake & Madison Andrews and Anna Marple; her parents, Jim & Delores Black of Davenport, Iowa; her sisters, Dee Dee (Mike)Kight of East Moline, Illinois and Jan Black of Davenport; her nieces, Kirsten Kearns of East Moline and Angie Kight of Moline; and a great-niece, Rylee Carver of Moline.

In addition to her husband, Doug, Lynn was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents.
