Lynn Reardon

Lynn D. Reardon, 85, of Bettendorf, passed away Saturday September 21, 2013 at his residence with his wife by his side.

A Graveside Memorial Service will be held 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday October 1, 2013, at Rock Island National Cemetery, Rock Island, Illinois, with full military honors.  Guests whom would like to attend the service are to meet by 11:00 a.m. at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf, Iowa.  Lynn’s family invites their friends to join them for lunch at Biaggi’s, directly after the service, and share their memories of him.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Honor Flight of the Quad Cities or the Bettendorf Public Library.

Lynn was born November 25, 1927, in Alliance, Ohio, the son of Daniel and Gwladys (Stacey) Reardon.  He united in marriage to Phyllis “Kathy” Margletta on May 20, 1964, in Akron, Ohio.  Lynn proudly served his country as a Marine during World War II and the Korean War.  He was an Automotive Manager for Montgomery Ward before his retirement.  He enjoyed rooting for Notre Dame Football, reading, gardening, watching the Cubs and going to the Marine Corp breakfast at Village Inn.

Lynn will be remembered by his wife Phyllis of Bettendorf; five daughters: Cathy (Pete) Linton of Las Vegas, Nevada, Lindee Teague of Gahanna, Ohio, Kelly Reardon of Bettendorf, Colleen (Thaxton) Brooks of Houston, Texas, and Laura (Michael) Stewart of Ocoee, Florida; five granddaughters; one grandson; three great granddaughters; and two great grandsons.  Lynn was preceded in death by his parents and one beloved granddaughter.
