Mabel Adalene Elliott, 89, a resident of Bettendorf, formerly of LeClaire, died Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at her home.
Funeral services celebrating her life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Burial will be at Rose Lawn Cemetery in Moline. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services on Saturday. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Born on January 31, 1925 in Lamont, Iowa, Mabel was the daughter of Lewis Edward and Daisy Rosalie (Shreve) Fewell. On June 14, 1942 in Rock Island, she married Edward William “Bill” Elliott.
Mabel was a member of the Silver Creek Lodge Order of Eastern Star in LeClaire and First Presbyterian Church in LeClaire. She enjoyed ceramics, gardening and crocheting.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Bill; two daughters, Sharon (Jeff) Hanson of Sherrard, IL and Linda (Guy) Jones of Sangar, TX; two sons, Edward William “Bill” Elliott, Jr. of Princeton, IA and Darryl (Debbie) Elliott of LeClaire; 17 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters in infancy, Sheryl Lea and Dixie Lea; one brother and five sisters.
