Margaret Dubil, 99, of Bettendorf, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 24, 2016 at St. James Lutheran Church in Bettendorf where she was a member. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Burial will be in Moline Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House or to Genesis Hospice.
Margaret was born May 30, 1916 in South St. Paul, Minnesota, the daughter of Peter & Ilona (Bardoczy) Tonkovich. She was united in marriage to Rudolph Haber on October 21, 1939 in Davenport, Iowa. He preceded her in death on November 24, 1973. She later was united in marriage to John Dubil in Bettendorf on December 15, 1977. He passed away on December 15, 2002.
Margaret was the owner/operator of Glendale Mobile Home Park in Bettendorf and had been employed at the Bettendorf Bank in earlier years. She had volunteered for area hospitals as a Gray Lady in years past and was also a Cub Scout leader.
She was a member of various card clubs and an avid world traveler. She was dedicated Hawkeye fan attending many bowl games including the Rose Bowl. Margaret also had a great love of big band music and ballroom dancing.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughter and son-in-law, Janet & William Bedford of Tempe, Arizona; her grandchildren, Brandon Bedford of Bettendorf and Cori (Steven) Slonaker of Mesa, Arizona; her great-grandchildren, Joshua, Nathan & Emily; several nieces & nephews; her brother-in-law, Joe Haber of Bettendorf and sister-in-law, Doris Haber of Silvis, Illinois.
In addition to her husbands, Rudolph and John, Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Sandy; her son, Fred; her sisters, Irene and Goldie; and her brothers, Peter, Rudy and William.
